Nagayama Honke has been in operation since 1888. Takahiro Nagayama, the 4th generation owner, took over his family business as a 'toji" (master brewer) in 2001. The brand name, "TAKA", was taken from his name, "Takahiro". Since 2004, the Taka brand has been dedicated to brewing only junmai sake with personality and character.
