Kozue is a contemporary Japanese small batch gin and is the first to use Japanese umbrella pine needles (koyamaki) in its botanical list. The recipe also contains European juniper, and botanicals local to Wakayama Prefecture where it is made, including sansho pepper, orange, lemon and mandarin.
Part of the Japanese gin movement, Kozue Gin is the first to use Japanese pine needles in its botanical list. Released by Wakayama's Fujishiro Distillery, with a small first batch of just 100 bottles domestically.
Nose: an abundance of pine and pepper spice.
Palate: Citrus forward, pine, and spice, smooth and drinkable.
